A port of the NetBSD project and BlackRhino GNU/Linux, an alternative Debian-based distribution, are also available for the PS2. Making games on the PlayStation is possible with any model of the system through the use of a modchip or the double ‘Swap Trick’. There is also a softmod/save game exploit called “tonyhax” Requirements consist of a PC, SDK, and a ‘Comms Link’ device to upload and download files to and from the console.
- There’s one caveat with using RetroArch’s pre-downloaded cheats.
- Emulator installation & configuration, bezels, hotkeys, performance fixes and more.

- After selecting it, higan will use its internal database of cheat codes to see if it can find any for the game you are currently playing.
Thanks for any advice, because my GBZ I had already pieced together, but without games… All games I tried the Raspberry Pi 2 and go without problems. 🗂️ Page Index for this GitHub Wikiℹ️ About GitHub Wiki SEE, a search engine enabler for GitHub Wikis as GitHub blocks most GitHub Wikis from search engines. A BIOS is the firmware used to provide runtime services for a given operating system/console and to perform hardware initialization during the boot process. For example, this is the code within a gaming console that tells it how to be a Playstation, Dreamcast or any other system. I recommend having a microSD installed and properly prepared (if you’ve not done that already, please see here). You can install EmuDeck to the internal SSD Amiga Bios, but space is precious there and microSD’s are relatively cheap and a good fit for emulation. Using the steps below, you’ll be able to install EmuDeck fairly quickly (typically ~20-30min), but dependent on the number of games you add (I recommend, being picky –at least initially). This means you can easily write code to start a memory copy in BIOS code that will have an interrupt fire before it’s complete.
RetroArch’s interface makes it easy to accidentally download an unwanted core. The following directions are how you can delete a core. It’s oddly several steps and not a convenient process.

Work on e-Reader support in mGBA actually started several years ago, but hit a roadblock when I couldn’t figure out how exactly the dotcode images appeared when scanned by the game. Documentation was somewhat sparse, and as with a lot of the GBA documentation out there it tended to gloss over many of the fine details. I assumed figuring this out would require writing difficult hardware tests, so I decided to push it off until the next release when I’d have time to write those tests. And then when I didn’t write those tests in time for the next release it got pushed out again. Unfortunately this meant that in the meantime work on the feature languished despite a significant amount already being done. Next, click , and it will download and extract each chosen emulator.

If you’re curious why I didn’t show the Official Steam Deck dock in the above video, here’s why. USB Stick – If you’ll be copying a lot of games, you may want to pick one up that is a larger size. However, these are fast and work well but only 32GB. If you enjoy emulation and want to play Retro Games on the Steam Deck EmuDeck has you covered.
When you use Autofill or manually select a Media type, the most popular/faster core for this system will be automatically selected for you (it’s always the first item in the dropdown). If you have any problems with them, please try other core alternatives too. In simple terms, a Core is an emulator that runs inside Retroarch, which in turn runs inside EmuVR.
