Roll-off Drivers are responsible for the collection and hauling of waste debris from large, high volume construction customers, as well as from residential and other commercial customers. Perform assigned duties on roll-off delivery, pick-up, and hauling routes, and have the ability to understand and follow site-specific procedures. Must navigate driveways, alleyways, job sites and traffic filled roadways This may also entail operating in tight environments, such as private driveways, as well as heavy industrial and crowded city environments. Addresses customer concerns when necessary, in a polite and courteous manner. Professionally interact, communicate, and take direction from office personnel and dispatchers. Requires the ability to work under limited supervision, to make decisions, and to work independentlyPhysical Requirements
8-12 hour shifts Sitting 8-10 hours or more per day Lift, push, and pull up to 75 pounds without assistant The following requirements are determined Climbing up and down on trucks Pushing, pulling, and bendingEssential Functions:
Follow safe operating practices
Operate controls to load and unload containers in accordance with Company safety policies and procedures. Provide prompt, courteous and complete services to customers Continuously monitor the condition of the vehicle to ensure it is operationally ready at all times Report any vehicle operating malfunctions, and/or needed repairs to your Supervisor immediately. Operate the vehicle in congested city, highway and disposal areas Ensure proper tarping of container to prevent loss of container contents during transport. 100% on the job training Be familiar with DOT regulations regarding the safe operation and required DOT documentation required while driving his/her truck -Must be physically able to safely, manually tarp containers ranging in size from 10-yard to 100-yard capacity Perform other job related duties as assignedKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Some knowledge of hydraulic systems
Ability to work independently with minimum direction Ability to read, understand and follow standard operating procedures Accurately complete daily driver logs, reports, & vehicle inspections Basic understanding of OSHA Lock Out Tag Out program and all OSHA Fire protection regulationsPhysical, Mental, and Visual Demands:
-While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to sit for extended periods of time -Stoop, bend, crouch, reach, push, pull, lift, grasp, grip, feel, and perform repetitive motions -Exerts up to 75 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently -Work requires the ability to climb a trailer or container to inspect contents or tarp the container -Requires work outdoors under varying climatic conditions, including inclement weather -Must communicate verbally,and demonstrate good communication skills -Participate in the Drug Free Work Place policy, including testing requirements, is mandatory -Any citations including tickets, fines and court appearances received while in the performance of company-assigned duties that involve driving infractions will be the sole responsibility of the driverRequirements:
-Possess a valid NYS CDL, and Must have a valid DOT Medical Card, or valid exemption -Must pass a background investigation and drug screen -Minimum two years satisfactory driving experience and a clean driving record -Must pass written and road test evaluations when required -No suspensions or revocations due to a moving violation or accident within two years -No DUI (driving under the influence) convictions within four yearsSyracuse Haulers waste removal Inc. website: syracusehauler.com
