So,... are you ready? JOB SUMMARY: The candidate will work on battery related modeling, control, and experiments. Detailed work including battery pack modeling, charging protocol, communications and the relevant experiments. JOB DUTIES: 50% - Essential - Algorithm development: the candidate will develop battery state estimation algorithms using eletrochemical or equivalent circuit models. Computing techniques will be applied to accelerate computing speed. The candidate is expected to be able to develop the algorithms using Matlab m files. 40% - Essential - Simulation and experiment: Simulations using Matlab/Simulink will be needed to validate the obtained algorithms. Real data may be required through experiments or from open sources. Results are expected to be implemented in real battery systems. 10% - Essential - Reporting: The results will need to be presented in group meetings. Further writeup is required to communicate the results to academic fields and/or industry. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Education - High School or Equivalent PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS: Education - 1st Bachelor's Degree - Automotive or Electrical Engineering Responsibilities JOB KNOWLEDGE Fundamental Job Knowledge - Fundamental working knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures and ability to apply in varied situations Supervisory Responsibilities Supervises Student Workers only - Supervises Student workers only Budgetary Responsibilities No Budget Responsibilities - No fiscal responsibility for the department's budget. WORKING CONDITIONS: 10% - Electrical hazards WORK SCHEDULE: Standard Hours: 20 Compensation Information Expected Pay: $20 per hour Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.
