About the role
The System Administrator (Internal) is responsible for maintaining, supporting, and securing Swish World Group’s internal systems and IT infrastructure. Reporting to the Internal IT Manager, this role ensures the reliability, availability, and security of internal services used by employees in a remote-first organisation.
This role focuses on internal infrastructure and employee-facing systems, not customer production platforms.
Key Responsibilities
System Administration & Maintenance
Administer and maintain internal servers, services, and cloud-based systems
Monitor system performance, availability, and backups
Apply updates, patches, and configuration changes
Identity, Access & Endpoint Management
Manage user accounts, access rights, and permissions
Support identity and access management processes
Assist with endpoint setup, configuration, and troubleshooting
Monitoring, Backups & Recovery
Ensure reliable backups and test recovery procedures
Monitor systems for performance, capacity, and issues
Respond to incidents and service disruptions
Security & Compliance Support
Implement security controls and hardening in coordination with IT and Security teams
Support vulnerability remediation and incident response activities
Follow internal IT security policies and procedures
Documentation & Support
Maintain clear documentation for systems and processes
Provide technical support and escalation assistance to internal IT teams
Support onboarding and offboarding activities
Expectations
Maintain stable, secure internal systems
Follow change management and documentation standards
Communicate clearly and escalate issues appropriately
Operate effectively in a fully remote environment
Requirements
Experience
Proven experience in a system administration or IT infrastructure role
Experience supporting internal systems for remote teams
Experience with cloud platforms and modern IT environments
Experience in technology-driven organisations preferred
Skills
Strong system administration and troubleshooting skills
Experience with Linux and/or Windows server environments
Knowledge of identity management, networking, and backups
Strong attention to detail and reliability
Clear written and verbal communication skills
Qualifications
Relevant technical qualification or equivalent hands-on experience
Industry certifications (e.g. Linux, Microsoft, cloud certifications) preferred but not required
