Job Description
Job Summary: Provides distributive pharmacy and support services for pharmacists in the investigational Drug and Specialty Pharmacy Section (IDSPS) at the Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center (RMRVAMC). The IDSPS provides investigational medication management, clinical trial support and specialty pharmacy services at RMRVAMC.
Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: - Processing outpatient prescriptions and inpatient orders for investigational and specialty medications according to the specific requirements of each study or REMS.
- Maintaining detailed investigational/specialty drug accountability inventory and dispensing records.
- Clinical trial medication and supply ordering, receipt, inventory control, participant assignment and documentation per local and sponsor requirements.
- Assisting study coordinators, investigators, study monitors in proper study conduct and oversight.
- Data entry, photocopying, scanning and filing of prescription, clinical trial, and specialty medication records.
- Delivery of study prescriptions and supplies to on-campus locations.
- Maintain all training as required by the VA and study sponsors.
- Maintain cleanliness of pharmacy work areas and work to ensure a clutter-free work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Education: - High School Diploma or GED certificate.
- Computer skills are critical, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, STATA and SQL.
- Completion of a pharmacy technician training program
Preferred Experience: - One-year related experience.
