Job Description

A Maine nursing services firm is seeking a Private Duty Nurse to provide in-home care working with a family and their child. The nurse will be clinically responsible for the health, safety, and wellbeing of the client while on duty. This is a direct hire position.

The nurse will be expected to be familiar with vital signs equipment, suctioning equipment, BPAPs, CPAPs, ventilation equipment, cough assist equipment, nebulizers, chest physiotherapy equipment, lifting aids, feeding pumps, and computerized systems including clinical and business software. Familiarity with fax, scanner, copier, and phone systems is also a must.

The applicant must have a college degree and be licensed as an LPN or RN with at least one year of clinical experience.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Direct patient responsibilities include assessments, patient care, and administration of medications and treatments per a Care Plan.
  • Providing personal services according to a Care Plan such as baths, oral hygiene, shampoos, back rubs, bed linen changes, dressing and undressing the client, maintaining living area cleanliness, meal preparation, feeding assistance, ambulation, range of motion exercises, and laundry.
  • Reports on changes in the client’s conditions and needs as appropriate.
  • Meets the safety needs of the client.
  • Follows clinical best practices and care standards.
  • Provides patient teaching on care treatment, medications, and self-care.
Required Skills: Sanfilippo Syndrome, Seizure Disorder, Respiratory, and G-tube.

Starting pay is $35.00 per hour for this Direct Hire position.
