Serene Path Home Care is excited to announce an opening for a dedicated Non-Medical Nursing Assistant to join our dynamic team. Based in the heart of our community, our organization provides compassionate, non-medical home care services to those who require assistance with their daily activities but wish to maintain the comfort and dignity of living in their own homes. This full-time position is designed for individuals who are passionate about caregiving and offers a fulfilling opportunity to make a significant difference in the lives of patients and their families.

The role entails working alongside family members and other healthcare providers to ensure that all client needs are met with professionalism and empathy. This is not a remote position. The successful candidate will be working directly in clients’ homes, becoming a vital part of their daily lives, and contributing positively to their overall well-being.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide basic patient care under the direction of nursing staff, including but not confined to, bathing, grooming, and feeding the clients.
  • Perform housekeeping duties such as cleaning, laundry, and maintaining the cleanliness and overall safety of the client’s environment.
  • Assist clients with mobility and physical therapies/exercises as specified in their care plan.
  • Facilitate clients’ activities of daily living by providing necessary support and companionship.
  • Monitor and report changes in patient health status and needs to the supervising nurse or manager for appropriate adjustments to care plans.
  • Prepare and serve meals according to dietary needs and preferences of the clients.
  • Record and maintain professional documentation of all patient care provided, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Administer medication as prescribed and keep accurate tracking of all medication delivery.
  • Ensure the utmost respect, dignity, and privacy is maintained for all clients.
  • Engage clients in activities that enrich their lives and encourage emotional and social well-being.
  • Attend to any emergency needs of clients and act according to established emergency protocols.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; further training in medical or caregiving field preferred.
  • Proven experience as a caregiver in a home-based setting or similar.
  • Knowledge of non-medical caregiving essentials and patient handling basic techniques.
  • Professional demeanor and a genuine interest in assisting those in need of home care.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with clients and their families.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound judgment calls regarding the care of patients.
  • Physical ability to perform job duties, including the ability to lift and maneuver patients as needed.
  • Current CPR certification or ability to obtain certification shortly after employment begins.
  • Commitment to ethical practices, confidentiality, and professionalism.
  • A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation, as this position requires travel to clients' homes.
  • Empathy, patience, and a supportive demeanor.
