Audiology Services is a private hearing healthcare practice in Belmont, MA, that has been serving the community for nearly 40 years. Dedicated to delivering the best possible care based on each patient’s individual needs, they are seeking a Medical  Billing Specialist to strengthen their team and ensure efficient, accurate billing processes while supporting the overall patient experience.

Position Overview:

The Medical  Billing Specialist will manage insurance claims and reimbursements, check patient benefits, maintain accurate patient account records, and ensure compliance with coding and documentation requirements.

While billing and coding will be the primary focus, this role will also provide support with front desk responsibilities such as scheduling, patient check-in/out, and phone coverage when needed.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and professional, with strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across both clinical and administrative functions. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Check patient benefits and clarify coverage with insurance providers.
  
• Accurately assign required CPT and medical diagnosis codes.
  
• Submit claims through medical billing software and monitor claim status.
  
• Research and resolve rejections and denials.
  
• Post payments, adjustments, and manage collections.
  
• Maintain documentation of billing and account activities.
  
• Ensure HIPAA compliance in all record-keeping and patient interactions.
  
• Assist with front desk duties such as scheduling, patient check-in/out, and phone support when needed.
  

Requirements:

• Prior experience in medical billing and coding, preferably in audiology, ENT, or a related healthcare setting.
  
• Working knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes.
  
• Proficiency with medical billing software and electronic health record systems.
  
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  
• Ability to balance detail-oriented billing work with occasional patient-facing front office responsibilities.
