Medical Assistant
Brooklyn, NY (On-site)
$18-23/hour (based on experience)
option # 1 - M-TH 10-6 Sundays 10-6/ M-TH evenings Sundays and or Fridays
option# 2 - Sundays 8-6 M-TH 8am-9pm at least 2x week until 9pm
option # 3 - Schedule can be anytime between 8am-7pm Sunday-Friday
Position Summary:
A fast-paced outpatient medical practice is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to support patient care and clinical operations. This role involves direct patient interaction, assisting physicians during exams, maintaining exam room readiness, and supporting administrative tasks related to patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
Escort patients from the waiting area to exam rooms and prepare them for visits
Take and record vital signs, height, and weight accurately
Maintain exam room cleanliness and ensure supplies and equipment are stocked and ready
Perform phlebotomy, EKGs, and assist in specimen collection and lab processing
Support physicians with additional patient care tasks within scope of practice
Assist with phone calls, delegating appropriately to nurses or providers
Schedule tests, coordinate referrals, and pre-certify patients for procedures
Process medication prior authorizations and assist with prescription monitoring as needed
Conduct patient recalls for follow-up and wellness appointments
Adhere to all clinical protocols, compliance standards, and safety policies
Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
One of the following is required:
Medical Assistant or technician certificate
High school diploma
College degree
1 year of relevant experience
Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Organized, dependable, and comfortable in a clinical setting
Bilingual a plus
