LifeReady Academy — Practical Skills for Real Life

LifeReady Academy equips students with the real-world skills they need to thrive. We’re seeking a part-time Education & Engagement Specialist who enjoys teaching, working directly with students, and supporting the operational flow of our programs. This role combines instruction, lesson preparation, and light outreach/social media support (with a designer handling content creation).

What You’ll Do

Instruction & Facilitation

• Teach or co-teach LifeReady modules (training provided)
• Lead engaging, hands-on lessons in topics such as financial literacy, cooking basics, personal management, and more
• Create a supportive, confidence-building learning environment
• Apply strong classroom management to maintain structure

Program Operations & Lesson Preparation

• Prepare lesson materials, handouts, and activity supplies before each session
• Assist with classroom setup and cleanup
• Organize and track materials to ensure smooth program delivery
• Collaborate with curriculum developers by providing structured feedback on lessons and student engagement

Community Engagement & Light Social Media Support

• Capture simple photos or short clips during programs (designer edits & posts)
• Provide basic storytelling or caption ideas about classroom moments
• Represent LifeReady positively when interacting with students, families, and school partners

What We’re Looking For

• Experience teaching, tutoring, or working in youth development or enrichment
• Confident classroom presence and strong communication skills
• Organized, reliable, and comfortable preparing and managing materials
• Friendly, student-centered approach
• Basic familiarity with social media platforms (no design/editing required)
• Reliable transportation to travel to host sites within Greater Springfield/Western MA (mileage reimbursed)
• Passion for LifeReady’s mission of teaching practical skills for real life

Background Check Requirements

Because this role works directly with minors, employment is contingent upon successful completion of both state and national background checks , including:

• Massachusetts CORI (Criminal Offender Record Information)
• SORI (Sex Offender Registry Information)
• National background screening through an accredited provider

Position Details

Location: Greater Springfield / Western MA (in-person instruction required)
Schedule: Part-time, flexible based on program needs
Start Date: January 2026
Compensation: $22–$30 per hour DOE (Depending on Experience)
Travel: Mileage reimbursed for travel to partner and host sites
