Job Description

RIGHTSTONE IS HIRING! We are seeking an experienced Document Controller to support a fast-paced Oil & Gas project environment in The Woodlands, TX with $35/hr pay for a 1 year contract (potential temp to perm opportunity) . This role is responsible for establishing, managing, and maintaining all document control processes for the project, including full ownership of the Master Document Register (MDR). You will work closely with the Project Manager, drilling execution team, and external suppliers to ensure all project documentation is accurate, up to date, and properly controlled. APPLY NOW!

Schedule : Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

What You’ll Do:

• Establish, communicate, and manage document control procedures and requirements
• Own and maintain the Master Document Register (MDR) for internal teams and suppliers
• Control the flow of project documentation, including technical and billing-related documents
• Ensure strict revision control, version tracking, and accurate document issuance
• Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to collect, review, and distribute documentation
• Support the Project Manager and drilling execution team with up-to-date records
• Prepare document status reports and support audits as needed
• Monitor compliance with project and documentation standards (PMI knowledge preferred)
• Perform additional administrative and documentation tasks as required

Required Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in document control or a similar role
• Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel (tracking, filtering, reporting)
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-energy, fast-paced environment
• High school diploma required
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

 

Preferred Qualifications

• Oil & Gas industry experience (preferred but not required)
• Bachelor’s degree in Project Management or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Familiarity with PMI standards
• Experience supporting drilling or execution teams
• P6 experience is a plus, but not required
• Comfortable helping establish document control systems and processes
