Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Directional Drill Operator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating horizontal directional drilling equipment to install underground telecommunications cabling. The ideal candidate will have experience with utility construction and a strong commitment to safety and quality. Key Responsibilities: + Operate directional drilling equipment to install fiber optic and other telecom cables underground. + Read and interpret utility maps and blueprints to determine drill path. + Monitor drilling operations and make adjustments as needed to ensure accuracy and safety. + Perform routine maintenance and inspections on drilling equipment. + Work closely with crew members to ensure efficient and safe job site operations. + Follow all safety procedures and company policies. Qualifications: + Previous experience operating directional drilling equipment (e.g., Vermeer, Ditch Witch). + Knowledge of underground utility construction and locating practices. + Ability to read and interpret construction plans and utility maps. + Valid driver's license (CDL preferred). + Strong work ethic and attention to detail. + Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions. Preferred Qualifications: + Experience with telecom or fiber optic installations. + Experience operating or locating on directional drill crew. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
