Maximum Security Products Corp. (MSP) is a Waterford, NY-based Detention Equipment and Miscellaneous Steel contractor and manufacturer. MSP is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their team onsite in New York City, NY. The PM will be responsible for either one or multiple projects and manage all interactions with internal and external stakeholders including the client. The PM will also manage day to day execution of the project through all phases from initial startup, design and engineering, construction management, change management, closeout, commissioning, and warranty work. The PM will be responsible to a Project Executive for the profit and loss of each individual project and/or portfolio of multiple projects.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Serve as Project Manager/Project Engineer reporting to an experienced Project Executive at our New York City job sites
  • Manage the project’s profit & loss to preserve profitability throughout the project’s life cycle.
  • Manage and maintain a healthy client relationship while protecting company interests.
  • Responsible for on-time project completion.
  • Assist in preparing Hardware Schedules
  • Negotiate and execute contracts and purchase orders with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Chair weekly and/or monthly project meetings with all interested stakeholders.
  • Communicate frequently and effectively to ensure the project team is well informed.
  • Actively support safety in the office, factory and on the job site.
  • Ensure all contract requirements, administrative or otherwise, are satisfied in a timely manner.
  • Identify and advocate internally for all resources necessary for project success.
  • Perform all other duties as may be assigned by the Project Executive or Division President.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

  • B.S. Degree or A.S. in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management required. Certificated Construction Programs will also be considered.
  • Three to five years’ experience as PM in construction.
  • Experience with detention equipment and/or steel fabrication and installation.
  • Experience managing large project teams of diverse professionals preferred.
  • Ability to speak, read and write fluent English required.
  • Ability to successfully pass background/security check required.
  • Strong proficiency with MS Office required.
  • Proficiency with CAD, BIM and Bluebeam.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to travel to project locations as needed.

Physical Demands

  • Use of manual dexterity, tactile, visual, and audio acuity.
  • Use of repetitive motion, prolonged periods of sitting and standing, and sustained visual and mental applications and demands.
  • Occasional lifting (up to 40 pounds), bending, pulling, and carrying.
  • Quantitative/mathematical ability (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, standard measurements).
  • Ability to work outside in and around construction sites safely.
