Position Summary

Due to a recent retirement, Michigan Schools and Government Credit Union (MSGCU) is seeking an accomplished Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join the organization. Reporting directly to the President/CEO, the COO will provide strategic leadership and direction to all member-facing divisions of the Credit Union, including the organization’s branch network, call center, sales and service initiatives, the membership’s digital experience, marketing and business development, and MSGCU’s Investment Services. The role requires a deep commitment to enhancing member experience, increasing member engagement, and ensuring consistency and brand alignment with MSGCU’s mission and values. The successful candidate will possess a passion for service excellence, a proven ability to develop high-performing teams, and a strong background in driving innovation and operational efficiency. The COO will actively contribute to the Credit Union’s strategic planning and organizational growth through data-driven strategies, collaborative and transparent leadership, and a robust understanding of financial services within a member-centric environment. This role is central to shaping and elevating the member experience across every channel, ensuring that MSGCU continues to deliver exceptional, personalized service that meets the evolving needs of its members. A master’s degree is required, as well as at least seven years of progressive executive-level management experience in a financial institution.
