Reporting to the assigned Executive Creative Director, the Associate Creative Director requires demonstrated qualifications and skill set to contribute to and highly impact a project’s successful design solution including project-based leadership accountabilities and responsibilities.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES/FUNCTIONS may include but are not limited to:

  • Lead, support and contribute to the project team's executed design solution and deliverable for assigned projects
  • Defines and holds assigned project teams accountable for executing and delivering quality solutions within designated timeframes, ensuring all project leadership and feedback is considered and incorporated as agreed upon
  • Leads client presentations and communications
  • Hand sketch, digitally render or illustrate solutions throughout a variety of Design phases: Conceptual, Schematic, Design Development and Construction Documentation
  • Provide leadership to assigned project teams, sets project-based expectation and requirements around design fidelity as it pertains to the Design phases: Conceptual, Schematic, Design Development and Construction Documentation
  • Collaborate with internal team of producers, solutions engineers and software developers through development, testing and install of projects
  • Consistently ensures deadlines are being met and the work is within client expectations
  • Interface directly with outside team counterparts and internal departments to lead, identify issues, track those issues and collectively develop solutions
  • Consistently and proactively exudes a “go where needed’ attitude and outlook on role
  • Work with project Leadership Team to develop project plans while considering available resources and project budgets
  • Ability to maintain a flexible travel schedule and travel on short notice based on client and project need
  • Steward and manages process improvements and best practices within the Creative Studio
  • Articulates and shares information and knowledge as a DI subject matter expert
  • Champions, mentors, and supports the success of our Creative Studio team members

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Demonstrate a strong proficiency in design programs (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), research skills (for storytelling) and digital design utilizing Figma (including prototyping)
  • Ability to learn new skills and software quickly and to teach those skills to support staff
  • Ability to give direction and constructive critique and document as needed
  • Knowledge of technologies such as touchscreens, AR, VR, and gesture triggered experiences
  • High-level understanding of software development
  • Consistently and proactively exemplifies the desire to be team player
  • Consistently provides leadership in the midst of adversity
  • Consistently demonstrates and influences progress with quality and design solution technique
  • Consistently demonstrates development of personal time management and multi-tasking skills
  • Consistently maintains quality control for design documents

  • Possess a knowledge of material and fabrication methods relevant to design
  • Strong leadership, communication, and relationship management, including managing and mentoring multiple project teams
  • Willingness to learn business development, estimating, writing proposals and creative briefs
  • Actively represents Creative Studio team members and identifies potential issues/ solutions
  • Champion and contribute to the Creative Studio vision

Education/Certifications/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.F.A) in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Interaction Design, Industrial Design, Interior Architecture or related field
  • Understanding of UX, UI, Interaction Design and Motion Design
  • 7-10 years proven design and leadership experience required
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Critical attention to detail at all times
  • Sound judgement, business sensibility, and discretion required

While performing the duties of this job, employee may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions.

This is a salary (exempt) position. DI offers a full benefit package including Medical, Dental and Vision insurance along with Short and Long Term Disability, Life Insurance and Supplemental Accident, Critical Illness and Hospital Indemnity.
